Understanding reporting tools within Luxor Pool

Luxor Mining Pool provides advanced reporting tools that give miners insights into their operational performance, earnings, and worker activity. The core reporting functionalities are designed to help users monitor and optimize their mining strategies. Users can access insights regarding their mining operations through two main pages: Mining and Reports.

Mining

The Mining page displays live performance data, including:

  • A set of KPIs providing a quick summary of several aspects of the mining business:
    • Avg Hashrate for the last complete 5 minutes and 24 hours
    • Avg % Shares Efficiency for the last complete 5 minutes
    • Active Miner count in the last complete 5 minutes
    • Accumulated balance
    • Revenue generated in the last 24 hours
    • Real-time hashprice
    • Avg % Uptime for the last complete 24 hours
  • A dynamic time series chart for tracking hashrate and share efficiency. This chart offers two views: one with 5-minute granularity (looking back up to 7 days) and another with 1-hour granularity (looking back up to 4 weeks).
  • A list of Active and Inactive workers, with real-time activity status. All measures in this table are computed averages across a 15-min window.

All data can be recalculated for any subaccounts the user has access to and any supported currency by using the controllers at the top of the page. Additionally, all displayed data is localized to the user's timezone.

Active Workers definition

  • Active Workers are workers for which the Pool has recived shares in the last 3 complete minutes.
  • Inactive workers are workers for which the Pool has not received shares in the last 3 complete minutes and also these have not been manually deleted by the user via the User Interface.

Once an Inactive worker is deleted, it will no longer show up in the list of workers, unless the Pool receives again shares assigned to it.

% Uptime definition

Uptime is calculated as follows:

  • For each worker, every day, we compute how many minutes the miner has been active. Dividing that by the total minutes contained in a day delivers the Uptime of that worker for that given day (1440).
  • For subaccounts containing multiple workers, we add up separately both the numerator and the denominator for all workers, then we compute the ratio.

Consequently, % Uptime is a metric which can be expressed in periods which are multiple of 24 hours. For instance:

  • In the Mining page, we display the % Uptime for the last complete 24 hours
  • In the Reports page, we display the % Uptime for a set of entire dates specified in the date ranges selector
  • Also in Reports page, we display a daily time series of % Uptime (each tick is a date)

% Shares Efficiency definition

It can be thought of as the inverse of the % Shares Rejection rate. A high rejection rate can be caused by a number of reasons:

  • Firmware Issues: If you installed custom firmware make sure to check on the reject rate, also some firmware may get corrupted or needs to be updated. If you are having trouble contact the firmware developer or the ASIC manufacturer.
  • Machine Quality: Some ASICs have higher rejects than others due to the nature of the build. Even within the same manufacturer and same model ASICs are slightly different. So there is no standard across the industry and some machines are known for being a bit faulty.
  • Latency: There is a fair amount of data transmission during the mining process so your connection to our mining pool server has an impact on the rejection rate. Run a ping test to our Stratum server like stratum+tcp://btc.global.luxor.tech:700.
  • ASIC Temperature: The higher the temperature above the specified level, the more likely of rejected shares. Make sure to try to operate your ASICs in the operating band provided by the manufacturers.

Reports

The Reports page provides historical data focused on longer-term trends. It displays the following information (calculated based on the subaccounts, time period, and currency specified in the controllers at the top of the page):

  • A set of KPIs including hashrate, revenue, shares efficiency, and uptime
  • Time series charts for hashrate, revenue, hashprice, uptime, and active worker count. These charts provide 1-day granularity and allow users to view data back to the beginning of 2023.
  • A list of all debits and credits affecting the selected subaccounts

The data on this page is presented in UTC timezone.

CSV Downloads

All tables and charts from the Mining and Reports pages can be downloaded as CSV files. All downloaded data is presented in UTC.

Users can generate and share public Watcher Links, which allow external parties to access a view-only page featuring the same charts, components, and data found on the Mining page. This enables users and external parties to monitor mining performance without requiring access to the main account.
