Events Code Troubleshooting

In this document, we break down the Events codes that you may see while running LuxOS, or by using the events API call.

Board ASIC Enumeration Failure

Event Code: BOARD_ASIC_ENUMERATION_FAILURE
Description: Board failure due to ASIC enumeration failure.
Recommended Action: Inspect the board. It is likely that physical repairs are necessary.
Note: If all boards are getting this error, it is likely that the PSU is experiencing issues.

Board ASIC Init Failure

Event Code: BOARD_ASIC_INIT_FAILURE
Description: Board failure due to ASIC initialization failure.
Recommended Action: Try to reboot the board. If unsuccessful, there is a high likelyhood of hardware damage. As an extra step, try reverting back to stock firmware to confirm hardware damage. If reverting to stock firmware results in a healthy miner, reach out to our team to get support.

Board Critical PIC Failure

Event Code: BOARD_CRITICAL_PIC_FAILURE
Description: Board failure due to critical PIC failure
Recommended Action: Inspect the board. It is likely that there is physical damage to the board's PIC.

Board Critical Sensor Failure

Event Code: BOARD_CRITICAL_SENSOR_FAILURE
Description: Board failure due to a critical sensor failure.
Recommended Action: Inspect the board's temperature sensors. The hashboard will not run if all temperature sensors on the hot side are faulty.

Board High Temperature

Event Code: BOARD_HIGH_TEMPERATURE
Description: Board temperature is above user-defined Hot Temperature. Consider activating ATM.
Recommended Action: Check airflow to the miner and consider the use of ATM. ATM will automatically lower the clockspeed of the miner to maintain safe temperatures.

Board Not Detected

Event Code: BOARD_NOT_DETECTED
Description: Board was removed or connection to control board is faulty.
Recommended Action: The board is not being detected. If there is a board present in the miner, check that it is properly connected to the control board.

Board Not Enough Sensors Failure

Event Code: BOARD_NOT_ENOUGH_SENSORS_FAILURE
Description: Board failure due to not enough working sensors.
Recommended Action: Inspect the board's temperature sensors. You may also be able to reduce the minumum number of temperature sensors required.

Board Overtemp Shutdown

Event Code: BOARD_OVERTEMP_SHUTDOWN
Description: Board failure due to high temperature.
Recommended Action: The board reached the dangerous temp. Check airflow and consider using ATM with a higher buffer (temp_window).

Fan Failure

Event Code: FAN_FAILURE
Description: Fan failure.
Recommended Action: Check the fan. Check the connection of the fan to the control board. The fan may need to be replaced.

Fan Panic

Event Code: FAN_PANIC
Description: Fan panic.
Recommended Action: There are not enough working fans to run this miner. Replace or repair fans or reduce the minimum fans required for the miner to run.

Idle

Event Code: IDLE
Description: Miner is in Idle mode.
Recommended Action: The hashboards are off, but the psu is running. Wakeup the miner.

No Active Pools

Event Code: NO_ACTIVE_POOLS
Description: No active pools available.
Recommended Action: Make sure pools are added and configured correctly.

NoPIC Protection

Event Code: NOPIC_PROTECTION
Description: Miner shutdown due to NOPIC protection.
Recommended Action: After one or more board failed, the remaining boards were shutdown because there is no PIC to regulate voltage in this model. You may disable this protection and reboot the miner to run the board.

NoPIC Shutdown

Event Code: NOPIC_SHUTDOWN
Description: Board protection activated for this board.
Recommended Action: After one or more board failed, the remaining boards were shutdown because there is no PIC to regulate voltage in this model. You may disable this protection and reboot the miner to run the board.

Overtemp Protection

Event Code: OVERTEMP_PROTECTION
Description: Board overtemp protection triggered.
Recommended Action: The board reached the dangerous temp. Check airflow and consider using ATM with a higher buffer (temp_window).

PSU Panic

Event Code: PSU_PANIC
Description: PSU panic.
Recommended Action: Inspect the PSU for damage. Consider replacing the PSU.

Reboot Not Hashing

Event Code: REBOOT_NOT_HASHING
Description: Board reboot due to it not hashing.
Recommended Action: The board was turned off because it was not successfully hashing. Inspect the board and the PSU. It's possible the PSU shutdown due to an overtemp.
